the way i get *so* distracted when a computer comes on screen. computer-brain was already piqued when she's talking about ip addresses (both arpanet moved to tcp/ip and ipv4 started in 83, ok) and using it to determine the location (squint), and plain calling it the internet. was anyone saying internet yet in 1986? i don't know. data mining. geolocation software! Update: Unix the Iron Treads.

Greetings. After working with Ms. Briar to observe and analyze Unix we have made some adjustments to their care routine. Namely, I will be upping their diet and cutting back on some of the typical steel type supplements and replacing them with fish oils, walnuts, and vitamin-C rich food. This is because we have discovered that the outer shell of steel is held in place and moved around by muscle and cartilage, which must be kept healthy in order to ensure Unix maintains a high level of mobility. Too much iron can cause build up in these cartilage plates. Unix notably seems to greatly enjoy rolling over walnuts to crush them before consumption. They still eat the entire nut, but I am pleased they seem to be enjoying the new addition to their meals.

More notably, as we have edited Unix's diet they have become significantly more energetic. They were far from lethargic before, or so I had assumed, but now they seem to require a nearly constant attention and enrichment. I will need to make some updates to my schedule, and may even be forced to drop one of my classes in order to ensure they are receiving the stimulation they need.

They are not yet ready to join my official battling team, but I wish to focus on this with them. Given their energy and disposition I believe this will be an excellent way to meet their needs. However, they will require a lot of training before I can be confident that they will follow my commands and refrain from leaving the designated areas or attacking the opposing trainer during battle. Official League battle rules do not make much sense to pokemon in general, of course, but they make even less sense to a pokemon that has been completely isolated from humanity its entire life.

Unix presents many challenges as a pokemon, but I am confident with time and effort we will both rise to the occasion.
